As the technical force behind REVERB, Greg leads the firm’s software development process. He is a passionate entrepreneur, software engineer, and interface designer. He loves analyzing complicated problems and crafting simple, elegant solutions.
Greg also founded the open source Ruby on Rails project Active Admin – a framework for building administration style interfaces for business critical applications.
On top of designing and building software, Greg loves public speaking. He’s given numerous presentations to the Vancouver User Experience Group on the topics of user experience and usability and has been a guest-lecturer at the Capilano College’s School of Interactive Design.
Emily drives the firm’s business development, finance, and operations. She works with the development team to ensure a strong focus on the customer, and to maintain transparency and effective communication throughout the development process in accordance with Agile principles.
Prior to founding REVERB, Emily held roles as Business Manager with the VSO School of Music, and as an Audit Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She has also done private business development and fundraising, and had the fortune of working with United Nations Development Programme on their Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor. She obtained her BComm in Finance from Dalhousie University.
As an active Rotarian, she is regularly working on service projects both internationally and locally. In addition, Emily serves as the Director of Partnerships for TEDxVancouver, and is involved with the Vancouver Aquarium’s Toast to the Coast committee.
Philippe obtained his education in Computer Sciences & Information Technology from Université de la Méditerranée (Aix-Marseille II) and the University College Dublin. Philippe then went on to obtain his Masters in Software Engineering and Information Technology from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon. He had co-op terms with IBM, and has held a variety of developer positions that lead him to his current role as a Software Engineer at REVERB.
Philippe is a passionate software engineer who cares greatly for the quality of software he develops. He is a quick and keen learner of new methodologies and technologies, which makes him a flexible engineer who thrives when faced with complex problems. He crafts high quality applications powered by elegant and well tested code and turns complex requirements into robust and simple software. He contributes to many open source projects and is one of the core contributors of the popular administration framework for Rails, ActiveAdmin.
Philippe likes to share his passion of the Ruby programming language and the Agile development process and as such is very involved in the Ruby community: he currently serves as the president of the Lyon Ruby Brigade, runs the Ruby Lugdunum Conferences, and is one of the founders of the Agile Club of Valence, France.
With over 10 years of experience in agile team management, and a list of technical skills that is never ending, Arthur is a tremendous addition to our Vancouver team. Coupled with his knack for the creation of high performing, large-scale distributed applications, Arthur’s passion for knowledge sharing make him the perfect fit for Reverb.
Prior to joining Reverb, Arthur co-founded ZiiTrend, a crowd-sourcing social networking application, worked as a Senior .NET Developer for Microsoft Corporation, and also held the role of technical lead with a number of technology startups.
Arthur obtained his B.A.Sc & M. Eng in Electrical & Computer Engineering from UBC, where he specialized in engineering management, and advanced networking and multimedia.
Max is the newest addition to REVERB software. He is an efficient programmer, and exceeds the level of high quality software that REVERB sets as its standard.
Before joining REVERB, Max studied Computer Science at the Moscow Institute of Electronic Equipment in Russia. He has been developing websites professionally for over a decade, and has became spellbound by the simplicity and effectiveness of Rails and switched over beginning in 2007.
Besides programming, Max is interested in graphic and interactive design, UX and usability problems, envisioning information, and typography.
Joshua is involved at many levels of the software development process across a wide variety of projects at REVERB software. He is devoted to designing and building high quality software and seeks to improve the way that people interact with their devices.
Before joining REVERB, Joshua attended the University of British Columbia as a Computer Science major, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Operating System Design. During his time at UBC, Joshua interned for the telecom industry, building automated testing platforms and performing general quality assuring. Joshua also holds a BA in Geography, where his involvement with geographic information systems helped launch his passion for software development.
As the vision for agile software projects is always shifting, it takes commitment and determination to manage them. Chris does so with ease, while his exceptional communication skills create open and direct channels with stakeholders and team members alike.
Chris brings a great deal of enthusiasm to the team. He aims to inspire and motivate, and he is always excited to learn about the new and varied industries that work with REVERB. He obtained his MSc from the University of British Columbia studying human learning processes and brings a unique perspective, interest, and problem solving ability to designing exceptional user experiences.
Chris fosters the success of other members at REVERB through recognizing and utilizing the high level of skill on the team, the empathetic acknowledgement of team members’ lives, and by helping the team to relax and focus under pressure. He is vital to REVERB’s growth and successes.
